Japan Society has something very special going on: Sachiyo Takahashi’s SHEEP#1 which tells the sheep’s point of view from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’ The Little Prince.

As someone who just adores The Little Prince, this was beyond delightful and clever.

Sheep#1 strays from home and goes off on an adventure along a circuitous path, up icy mountains, encountering unusual people and a philosopher who becomes it’s friend, and plenty of nourishing stars before returning home.

Don’t worry folks, references were made to flowers and sunsets. And that question the little Prince wondered about if the sheep would eat his rose is answered.

I even got to participate at one point by turning a music box that played “As Time Goes By”.

I was at Program A with Emile Blondel on piano. Program B will be a bit different as that will have the more jazzier Kato Hideki on bass guitar.

The music was perfect in contributing to the various emotional moods.

My friend and I were totally enchanted with watching Sachiyo Takahashi hard at work as she projected the various objects with her elegant filming.

It was also fun to gage the audience's reaction with Awws and laughter. This really is a must see!
